Pricing

One price for the team.

Adding people doesn't change what you pay. Pick the plan for the tools you want and the size of your team, and that's the bill.

Zchedule is billed per team, never per employee: Free for up to 10 people, Starter $19.99 a month for up to 30, Pro $39.99 a month for unlimited people. Yearly plans cost ten months.

No credit card. Every new team gets 14 days of Pro, starting with the first shift you create.

Per team, not per person

What a team of your size pays.

Most scheduling tools price per user, which is why they get expensive exactly when you're hiring. Zchedule has three prices, and the only thing that moves you between them is the size cap.

Team sizeLowest plan that fitsPriceWhy
6 peopleFree$0Under the 10-person Free cap. Pay nothing until you want the time clock (Starter) or the generator (Pro).
15 peopleStarter$19.99/monthOver the Free cap, under the 30-person Starter cap. $19.99 a month, or $199.90 a year.
25 peopleStarter$19.99/monthSame plan and same price as the 15-person team. Adding ten people changed nothing.
40 peoplePro$39.99/monthOver the Starter cap, so Pro: $39.99 a month, or $399.90 a year, for as many people as you have.

The caps count everyone with a login, the owner included. A 6-person team can also choose Starter or Pro for the tools — the price is the same $19.99 or $39.99 whether the team has 6 people or the maximum.

The trial

14 days of Pro, on a clock you start.

Signing up puts you on a Pro-level team with no card on file. The countdown doesn't begin until you create your first shift, so setup time is never trial time.

Day 0
You make an account, name the team, set your hours and invite people. All of it on Pro, none of it on the clock.
The first shift
Creating it starts the 14 days. Generate a week, turn on a clock-in zone, pair a kiosk — everything Pro has is available to try.
Day 14
Nothing is charged. The team continues on Free with every schedule and record intact; the Starter and Pro tools pause until you choose a plan.
One per owner
The trial belongs to the person who owns the team. Creating a second team doesn't restart it.

FAQ

Questions worth answering up front.

Yes, for teams of up to 10 people including the owner. The Free plan is the scheduling product — the weekly board, shift presets, the publish check, availability, coverage requests, notifications and the iPhone app — with no expiry and no card on file. The time clock is Starter; the schedule generator, GPS zones and kiosks are Pro.

No. Every plan is one price per team. The plans differ by team size instead: 10 people on Free, 30 on Starter, unlimited on Pro. A 12-person team and a 28-person team on Starter both pay $19.99 a month.

No. Free is a plan, not a trial. A team that stays under the cap can stay on it indefinitely.

When you create your first shift, not when you sign up. Every new team has Pro-level access from the moment it is created; the 14-day countdown only starts once a shift exists, so setting up your hours and inviting your team doesn't use any of it. The trial is one per owner: an owner who has already used a trial on one team does not get another on a second team.

Nothing is charged and nothing is deleted. The team moves to Free, every schedule, shift and record stays exactly as it was, and the Pro-only tools (the generator, GPS zones, kiosks) and Starter-only tools (the time clock, reporting) stop until you pick a plan. If the team has more than 10 people, nobody is removed, but you can't invite anyone else until you upgrade.

Yes, at any time, from the Billing page. Upgrading takes effect immediately.

Yes. A downgrade is scheduled for the end of your current billing period, so you keep what you paid for until then. If the team has more people than the new plan allows (10 on Free, 30 on Starter), you're asked to remove members down to that number first.

You can't send new invites while the team is at or over the cap; existing members keep their access and their schedules. Moving to a plan with a bigger cap lifts the limit immediately.

Yes. Yearly is ten months' worth: Starter $199.90 a year, Pro $399.90 a year. Two months free compared with paying monthly.

No. You create an account, build a schedule and run the trial without entering a card. A card is needed only when you choose Starter or Pro.

Yes, from the Billing page. Cancelling ends the subscription at the end of the current period; the team then continues on Free with everything intact.
